Playing Stud
I have not played much hold'em recently. I have been playing mostly pot-limit Omaha and stud games. The other day, I was sitting at a $100-$200 HORSE game but was only in the mood to play the "SE" portions of the rotation. I usually do not have the chat enabled but I turned it on to find out that DAT MOOSE was railing against me, saying, "Why don't you get another Pepsi?" or "Don't worry, we'll keep the game running for you." The irony is that I suspect that maybe I was one of the reasons the game was running since I am no stud hi or stud 8 expert! I have not examined the numbers yet but certain games in a rotation play bigger. I will also post some stud hands. I'm not sure exactly why these games are not more popular, as I find them to be more complex and interesting than hold'em. Maybe the advanced play needed is what makes it intimidating. I don't like playing stud live though because it is too slow, and I cannot track the dead cards. Online, I can go through the chat to find out history.
Hand 1: I was trying to bluff here, although there is a slight chance that I might have been ahead anyway.

Hand 2: He three-bets me on fifth street. If I was a better stud player, I would have put in a 4th bet or at least put in a raise on sixth street. He cannot have a made flush on fifth street since I would have faced aggression on the previous street. As it turned out, I was ahead every street, although I had only 53.2% equity on fifth street. I do not know how to fold a pair so I call easily on the end.

Hand 3: I get check-raised on fifth street. If my opponent has 6-3 of clubs in the hole (a questionable steal-raise on 3rd street), then he is actually a 50.4% favorite since I have only a lowly pair of fives. I jump to a 66.2% favorite on 6th street since I take one his scoop outs. Again, on the end, I do not know how to fold, so I win with my low pair.
