Estoy en Lima, Perú (my 16th country visited).
I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney for three nights. Although I was near the two most iconic city landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, I did not do either the BridgeClimb or the Backstage Tour. Those two activities would have consumed a total of five hours and US$383. I found Sydney to be remarkably expensive, even after having been mentally prepared by browsing cost-of-living lists. A can of Coca-Cola was more than US$3 at a convenience store. When I bought a movie ticket, I was shocked to have paid US$23 for it.
I was in San Francisco for less than 24 hours, enough time to have a 2.5-hour lunch with my older brother. I also reveled in the low prices and comfort of a U.S. city, although San Francisco is considered to be one of the most expensive areas in the country. After having spent time in Singapore and Australia, the entire city felt like it was on sale!

how does transportation of baggage look like for you on these transpacific trips? you pack as light as mark?
I pack extremely light. However, I planned to settle somewhere and not return to the U.S. for a while so I am carrying luggage of four pieces weighing a total of 126 pounds.
I would state that you possess lots of understanding on this subject. This is an elegant blog post.
